Teachers’ protest outside Bratya Basu’s home demanding urgent meeting over appointment issues

Teachers demanding appointments intensified their protest on Thursday by reaching the residence of Education Minister Bratya Basu. The SLST teachers arrived to request a direct meeting with the minister after their repeated peaceful requests reportedly went unanswered. The protest reflects ongoing dissatisfaction over the delay in appointments.

Police were deployed outside the minister’s residence to prevent the protesters from entering. When stopped, the teachers began shouting slogans and staged a sit-in outside the premises. The protesters stated, “We have repeatedly requested to meet the Education Minister peacefully, but he has not come to meet us, so we have come to meet him.”

The protesters’ primary demand is a meeting with the Education Minister to discuss their appointment issues. The agitation continues with no immediate resolution. The police presence and sit-in indicate a significant development in the ongoing teachers’ protest related to appointment demands.
